Search surfaces

Post search is the focus here; comment and community search are sibling routes.

Keyword post search

GET /v1/reddit/search with q, optional subreddit scope, sort, and time filters.

Pagination

Page with after (and documented cursors) for larger result sets.

Comment search sibling

Search public comments via the Comment Search API—do not conflate with post search.

Community / media search

Additional search routes exist in docs; this landing owns the post-search head keyword.

Free tool try

Use /tools/reddit-search for a no-key preview (IP limits).

Not Ads or archive search

Not Reddit Ads API and not a deleted-content archive search.

How search works

  1. Pass a query string (and optional subreddit) to GET /v1/reddit/search.
  2. Page results with after as documented.
  3. Automate with a Bearer key after trying the free search tool if you want a quick preview.
GET /v1/reddit/search
$ curl -sS -G "$SPIDER_BASE_URL/v1/reddit/search" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SPIDER_API_KEY" \
  --data-urlencode "q=web scraping"

Is this the right fit?

Choose this path for managed public Reddit JSON. Do not expect:

  • Full historical Reddit archive or deleted-content recovery
  • Keyword or brand-mention monitoring inbox
  • Private, quarantined, or logged-in-only content
  • Official Reddit API approval bypass or write/mod OAuth replacement
  • Hard-coded credit unit prices on this page—see Pricing for meters
  • Reddit Ads API or promoted inventory search

Credits & billing

Public reads and successful deliveries use Plan Credits. Exact meters and rates follow Pricing; failed requests on our side are not charged when billing is active. Confirm live meters in Pricing and the Reddit API docs before publishing numbers.
