Comment search vs comments-by-post

Keyword comment search

GET /v1/reddit/search/comments with a query string.

Parent-post context

Standard results are oriented around parent posts—see docs for exact payload shape.

Deep search meter

Optional higher-cost deep search exists; it is not the default. Confirm on Pricing.

Not comments-by-post

If you already have a post id, use the Comments API instead.

No dedicated free tool

There is no freemium browser comment-search tool—use the API with Credits or try related free tools for posts/exports.

Not archive search

Not deleted-content or full-history comment search.

How comment search works

  1. Call GET /v1/reddit/search/comments with your query.
  2. Page results as documented.
  3. Use deep search only when you intentionally need that meter.
GET /v1/reddit/search/comments
$ curl -sS -G "$SPIDER_BASE_URL/v1/reddit/search/comments" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SPIDER_API_KEY" \
  --data-urlencode "q=web scraping"

Is this the right fit?

Choose this path for managed public Reddit JSON. Do not expect:

  • Full historical Reddit archive or deleted-content recovery
  • Keyword or brand-mention monitoring inbox
  • Private, quarantined, or logged-in-only content
  • Official Reddit API approval bypass or write/mod OAuth replacement
  • Hard-coded credit unit prices on this page—see Pricing for meters
  • A free browser comment-search tool on this product (none shipped)

Credits & billing

Public reads and successful deliveries use Plan Credits. Exact meters and rates follow Pricing; failed requests on our side are not charged when billing is active. Confirm live meters in Pricing and the Reddit API docs before publishing numbers.
