Google does not publish a News API for developers. This third-party endpoint returns what the Google News tab shows for a query, as news[] JSON: title, url, snippet, source, date and image_url. It is a results feed per query, not a news database.

The publisher label shown on the result; may be null.

date

Returned as the string shown, may be null; no format normalization is promised.

image_url

Thumbnail URL when one is shown; may be null.

Every row also has rank (nullable), title, url and snippet (nullable). news_count gives the row count.

GoogleLiveGoogle is callable today with a Bearer API key.

SERP searches are charged per successful search at a display rate of 2 Credits per search; failed searches are not charged. Polling task status is free. The current rate is on Pricing.

Is the date normalized?

date is a nullable string; no format is promised.

Can I queue news queries?

Yes. POST /v1/serp/google/news/tasks, then poll.

Do you return article bodies?

No. Only the news[] fields.
